And I always answer with, “Should you do a first look? It’s ultimately up to YOU!” There are so many opinions and do’s and not to-do’s throughout wedding planning but decisions are ultimately between the two of you. It’s your big day, your wedding, and the beginning of your life together. As a photographer, I want you to remember and cherish everything between the intimate moments to the pumped up party at the end of the night. Your wedding is meant to be timeless, unique to the two of you, and not to mention a super rad time!
With all of this being said, I do have a few thoughts on a first look if you are looking for guidance. Foremost, a first look gives you more space to be emotional and sentimental before your big walk down the aisle. As a result, there’s a good chance that you’ll get all your photos done before the Ceremony! This leaves you & your Fiancé to enjoy your wedding with the guests during Cocktail Hour. To me, a first look is much more special than seeing your spouse for the first time in front of 150 people. (But that’s just me!) If you want to be traditional, that’s okay! A first look isn’t for everyone. There’s no right or wrong way to have a wedding.
Perfect! Let’s make it happen then! If you are looking for more of a grand entrance feel, the first look down the aisle is what you’ll definitely want. And I am totally here for it!! No matter what you choose, and who your photographer is, they are going to capture it all! So go with what you BOTH want!!

Meet Tyler and Hayley! Engaged since 2019 plus even years of dating before considering they were high school sweethearts! (Absolutely adorable, right?!) After Tyler and Hayley considered having their wedding at a venue, they decided on hosting their special day at a family member’s beautiful private estate! As you scroll through their day, you’ll notice that they chose to have a first look and a private vowel reading before their ceremony. I was obsessed. The best part was when Hayley walked down the aisle, Tyler still was teary eyed. It was the sweetest moment. Tyler and Hayley will forever be one of my favorite weddings. They showed so much love, respect and joy throughout their very special wedding day.
