There’s something really special about the night before a wedding. The pace is slower, the nerves are softer, and everyone you love is finally in the same place. Jonathan & Melodie’s welcome party at The Beacon in Jupiter, Florida felt exactly like that — warm, joyful, and effortlessly beautiful. Perched along the water in Jupiter, The Beacon is the kind of place that naturally brings people together. Guests drifted between cocktails, laughter, and long conversations as the sun dipped lower, creating the kind of moments that feel small at the time but become some of the most meaningful memories of the entire weekend.

I love photographing wedding weekend celebrations in South Florida, especially intimate gatherings like this. A welcome party gives couples space to truly soak in the moment with their closest friends and family before the full energy of the wedding day begins. It also allows me, as your photographer, to get to know the people who matter most to you — the parents, siblings, and lifelong friends who will be surrounding you the next day. By the time the wedding arrives, there’s already a sense of familiarity and ease, which always makes the photographs feel more natural and connected.

The Beacon was perfect for this kind of gathering. The golden evening light sparkling on the water and the relaxed atmosphere create a beautiful contrast to the formality of the wedding day. It’s less about timelines and more about presence. From a storytelling perspective, these moments are just as important as your first kiss and the first dance.
