When love unfolds against the backdrop of the majestic Southern California coast, magic is bound to happen. Brandon and Madie’s wedding, held on a blissful July 1st, 2023, was a celebration of nature, love, and the tranquil marina vibes. I had the privilege of capturing their special day, filled with serene moments and breathtaking scenes.

The day began with an early morning arrival at a stunning Airbnb right along the Los Angeles coastline. The tranquility of the ocean waves and the soft, salty breeze set the tone for a chill, relaxed morning. The property was an oasis of beauty, nestled along the water’s edge, providing breathtaking views of the vast Pacific Ocean. As a photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque setting. The spacious property was adorned with lush greenery, creating a dreamy atmosphere. In this enchanting space, we discovered countless opportunities for capturing timeless photos, from a plant-filled garden to a vintage bathtub fit for the most elegant bridal portraits.

A Chapel Among the Woods

As Madie slipped into her wedding dress, we set off to the Wayfarer’s Chapel, a glass chapel nestled in the woods and overlooking the ocean. The chapel’s ethereal beauty perfectly complemented the serene surroundings.

It was a reminder of the importance of carefully considering the time and location of a California summer wedding due to the famous “June Gloom,” which blankets the morning and early afternoon in a gentle, hazy light. Nevertheless, the gloom couldn’t dampen the couple’s excitement to be united in matrimony.

A Marina Wonderland

Following the heartfelt ceremony, we moved to The Portofino Hotel & Marina, a waterfront paradise that transformed the celebration into a relaxed, ocean-inspired affair. As the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed the reception, boats glided gracefully by on the glistening water, adding an enchanting touch to the atmosphere. The vibe was nothing short of magical, and the beautiful cocktail hour offered the perfect opportunity to soak in the oceanic views.

An Open Seafood Bar

The details of Brandon and Madie’s reception were tastefully minimalistic, allowing the natural beauty of the surroundings to take center stage. However, there was one exception: an open seafood bar featuring unlimited crab, shrimp, and oysters, which was an absolute delight for the guests, and for me as well!

The reception, with its brunch vibes flowing seamlessly into the afternoon, focused on two key elements: food and fun. The newlyweds ensured that their guests were well taken care of and had a blast, making their wedding an unforgettable experience.
